Percussion therapy is a newer therapy used by many sports team to reduce soreness, stiffness, and pain. Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy (TPT) is more typically used for a specific area within a muscle which may remain long after a muscle injury has healed. It is an area that is more sensitive to the touch which may cause pain when pressure is applied. This may be indicated by a small nodule or tense band or ligaments within the muscle. The muscle may be stiff and/or sore. A therapist will apply pressure to the TPs until they dissolve. A message may follow to help relax the muscles.
