inadequate treatments, (treating the symptoms rather then the cause). The underlying cause is often caused by an injury such as whiplash or a compression to a nerves as a result of weight gain. Pregnancy is a common cause of nerve compression, for example.
These nerve compressions will often be described as neck pain or back pain, but the impact of a nerve impairment can affect any part of the body even hips or legs. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in your body which starts in your lower back and runs through the hip into the thigh area. However, the impairment can be in one place and the symptoms can be somewhere else because these impairments may cause the wrong signals to be sent to the brain.
...may be caused by many different things; injury, sports, overuse, scar tissue, and inactivity. However, frozen shoulder may be caused by conditions relating to a subluxation in the rib cage or nerve impairment in your neck or lower back. Frozen shoulder is typically diagnosed by limited usage and range of motion which often is accompanied by pain. The lack of using your full range of motion may lead to frozen shoulder. Even taking off or putting on a t-shirt may become extremely painful. Gentle exercise, stretching, heat, cold, and exercise may help but the best approach is to identify and treat the underlying cause.
...is typically the result of nerve pressure on the medium nerve which runs from the forearm into your hand. Symptoms are usually pain, tingling, and weakness in the hand or fingers. The underlying cause may be weight, pregnancy, arthritis, or over usage from repetitive hand motion. However, misalignment of the spine may be the underlying cause or a contributing factor to carpal tunnel.
...is a pain in the heel of the foot caused by the strain and/or inflammation of the ligaments that connect the bone to the toes. The pain may become more severe over time and is usually caused by such things as; overuse, too much standing or walking on a hard surface like concrete, running, being overweight, and extremely tight leg and calf muscles. It is common to get up after sleeping or resting to immediately feel sharp pain.
If you have tried everything else from stretching to arch support, and special shoes without success, you may want to see an Atlas Orthogonist to see if we can help. If your atlas is out of alignment it is very likely to have a domino effect on other parts of your skeletal structure; spine, lower back, and hips resulting in one leg being shorter/longer then the other. This situation means that your bone structure is out of balance all the way down to your ankles and feet. Getting your skeletal structure back in balance may result in a significant improvement to the underlying problems it can cause.
A common complaint of pregnant women is lower back pain. Of course this is often the result of the pregnancy itself due to the additional weight and/or redistribution of weight as the baby continues to grow. Many times the hip may already be or become out of alignment. If the atlas is in alignment, the hips should be in alignment which means the pelvis should be sitting in the correct position for the baby to grow and should maximize your comfort as a result. If a pregnant mothers' body is out of alignment it could influence the position of the baby and leave less room for the baby to grow properly. If your body is in alignment you may also have an easier and shorter delivery.
